Mastercard: Champions League Avatar

 

Goal

Mastercard needed a way to increase brand visibility through the use of social media.

Solution

I led a team of designers to create the Mastercard Champions League Avatar project, which allowed the client to find new ways to support soccer fans by creating virtual avatars through a facial recognition system. The system identified a user's facial expressions and imitated them with their digital avatar’s face in real-time.

I was personally responsible for selecting the visual style of the virtual characters and making them simple, vibrant, and expressive. I also created the graphic design for the main page as well as determined the typography style for the entire project.

Result

The project resulted in a significant increase of visibility for the client through the usage of avatars on social networks. 84,855 avatars were created and 77,560 emotions were shared on social media during the lifespan of the project.
